Grants to help working women and children affected by domestic violence to create strong, economically independent families.

We can make a difference in the lives of female survivors of domestic violence and their children. These women often flee abusive relationships with inadequate education and life skills. The provision of grants to subsidize and help furnish housing offers a chance for a fresh start. Childcare, job training and career, financial and psychological counseling are just a few of the additional subsidies offered. The results are independent women able to support their children emotionally and financially and ready to reenter society and the workforce as fully contributing members of society. Grants to give high school students in foster care the added financial and social support needed to be successful in college.

Grants are being awarded to a small number of motivated high school students in foster care. Many lack either the family or organizational support to be able to escape from this environment without some intervention. Eligible applicants are those that possess the strength of character and intellectual tools to succeed in higher education. These grants are awarded in conjunction with unique support from carefully chosen mentors under the guidance of the foster care facilities. This support allows these teens to obtain an education with ongoing guidance and support and to acquire the career and social skills necessary to become fully functional members of society.
